Christmas is such a crazy time of year isn't it??

 

"Boxing Day" sales start earlier and earlier every year! There is so much temptation around at the moment I don't even know where to begin and instead I haven't really brought anything aside from gifts for others.

Have the end of season sales begun where you are? Have you brought yourself some Christmas presents?

Yes, I realise it's not Sunday but I've been having technical issues with my computer - so frustrating!

 

Anyway, here's a couple of pictures from Sunday.

 

I had a great day, I started out by going to the farmers market in Oxford with my Mum, then off to the Riccarton Market before heading home to home made Lemoncello.

 

I finally found a 2 tier cake stand at the Riccarton Market and I couldn't resist this cute wee green tea cup trio for only $5!

This is my new favourite dress, the fabric feels gorgeous, I love the print and the sleeve detail is fun.

By the way, I'm pleased to hear I'm not the only one who believes commercialism is getting out of hand.

Hot Tropic

 

 

 

I work in the largest mall in my city and it would appear that Christmas shopping is a hot topic of conversation.

 

Do you expect to get spoilt? How much would you expect someone to spend on your Christmas present?

 

I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning and the announcers were discussing what women expect, according to them the average New Zealand women expects their partner to spend $480 on their present - personally I think that is totally ridiculous!

 

We prefer to spend our money on investments such as holidays and home improvement rather than buying things we don't really want or need for the sake of it.

 

Am I alone in thinking that Christmas is becoming too commercial?

We had an amazing time in Samoa, these are just some of the many photo's I took along the way.

We went to the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum (the home of the author of "Treasure Island") , saw some incredible natural waterholes, waterfalls and the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen.

We didn't have time to visit the other island Savaii so will have to go back another time.
