Distance makes the heart grow fonder

Since it's been a while I thought I'd share the love, that and Google connect won't let me comment so I thought I'd comment here instead.

I'm very fond of these beauties from Grit & Glamour.

"Powerful, feminine and a little edgy" - what more can I say.

How cute is this embroidery from Lydia at Luluation ?

I can't wait for summer to arrive just so that I can try this Strawberry Salsa recipe posted on LA FILLE D'OR :

And doesn't she have amazing style??

Lydia at the Button Jar also shares my love of Mustard.

Her posts are beautifully written and her description of Coco by Chanel - "delightfully spicy and ladylike" makes me want a bottle of my very own.

From the lovely Eirryn at August Lovers :

This looks amazing! All the spices sound truely divine - Winter soul food

Watermelon is another colour that is good enough to eat, check out this post

And this book sounds like one I want to get my hands on.

I've been reading the "Julie & Julia Project" and that's partly why I'm back again, it made me remember the value in being part of the blogasphere - there are so many blogs that I've missed reading!!!

I wish I could share more but then this post would be neverending!

Changes here, there and everywhere

That's right, no more red. I never thought I'd ever go back to my roots but then again I never thought I'd do a lot of things I've done.

In the last 6 months I've moved house (because our previous house fell down in the February earthquake), taken out my nose studs, got a hair cut and got a real job.

I will always adore redheads, both natural and the bottle variety, but I'd forgotten the beauty of being a brunette.

Mustard is my new favourite colour, it's good enough to eat and since it's winter over here in NZ there are plenty of rich autumnal shades to keep me entertained for quite some time.

What's new in your world? What's your favourite flavor this season?

Back from the dead

Well, where to begin.

I've been a very bad blogger! I haven't posted in literally months.

After the September earthquake I had to close my beloved shop and figure out what I was going to do with my life. After what felt like forever I found my new direction and that's about the time I stopped posting.

So to bring you up to date, I found a new job - one which requires a uniform, hence no "this is what I wore today" type posts.

I'm now a travel agent which sounds like fun but is much more hard work than I could ever have imagined. As a new kid in a job I knew nothing about it's taken me a while to get up to speed and I haven't had the energy for much else. You'd think that being a travel agent would be a bit of a walk in the park but it really isn't. Overtime is an understatement and the term deadline has a whole new meaning. But anyway, I digress.

I'm certainly not going to be able to post as often as I used to but I've missed my friends out there in the blogasphere. So here's to new beginnings.
