Allow my to introduce the latest addition to my ever increasing collection of mis-matching china. I brought all 3 pieces separately, the plate & saucer were $3 each at the Riccarton Market a few weeks ago and I found the cup on Trade Me for $4. The cup doesn't match as well as I'd hoped but I still like it.

Today has been a very quiet Sunday, we went to a friends birthday last night, all I can say is that I'm glad I was the sober driver. My man has been feeling very sorry for himself all day!

Most of the snow has melted in town now but we still have plenty at home, the forecast is for sleet tomorrow so hopefully the weather man is wrong...

What have you been up to today?

Would you prefer matching or mis-matching china?

Dress : H&M (purchased in Paris about a yr ago)
Jacket : Secondhand from The Paperbag Princess in AKL
Snood : Number 1 Shoes (about a yr ago)
Bangles : Lovisa
Boots : Overland (about 4 yrs ago)

  8. Love the mis-matched plates and cup! They are so pretty. I never have any good luck while looking for pretty plates. I'm kind hoping for some of that snow tomorrow, hopefully it gets us down here and leaves poor chch alone this time!

  12. I love this cute outfit! I'm a big fan of loop scarves too, but I really hope that I won't need them in the next 4 month as we should have summer at the moment (at least we should, actually it's raining and cloudy and cold and grey outside..)
Thanks for your two sweet comments today! I guess "today" is already over where you are, but for me it's still today, so I can say this!

  16. hi julia what a coincidence i just bought some mis matched china today aswell, i collect it too, i just love it, i have quite a few old tea sets that i got from my grandmother which i adore but usually i just buy bits and pieces, it takes a lot of room to store though and we havent a huge house, i hope your man is feeling better now, you look great as always, such beautiful hair, kisses from dublin xxxx leonie

  18. I just gasped at the sight of snow! Exactly what I wanted to see while I sit here in 90+ degree heat. Gimme! And I love mismatched china. It's so perfect. There's a store by me that has an entire floor of tea cups! You'd be in heaven.

  20. Sometimes it's good to be the sober one, hee hee. I love all the neutrals in this outfit, very chic.

If the china is antique (such as this), I prefer it mismatched.
